Robin Maritz, PhD

Lead – Conservation Science

Robin joined Conservation Alpha in early 2022, providing technical support and project management across our portfolio of work. Robin has a strong scientific background in biology, ecology and genetics, having attained her PhD in Molecular Biology from Cornell University before moving to South Africa in 2016.

Miriam is a financial accountant who has worked in the NGO sector for the last eight years. She holds an MBA in Finance from University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Commerce-Finance. Miriam specialises in assisting firms in financial reporting, general accounting, auditing, and adherence to statutory requirements.

Board Member

Robin built and lead Environmental Resources Management (ERM), the global environmental consulting group for over 30 years. Robin currently chairs UNEP-WCMC, the marine engineering group LOC, and the Investment Committees for two Social Impact Funds. He was awarded a CBE for services to the environment in 1999.
